Over break if they are done their Google Tours, they will have no homework.
Students can silent read if they wish to get credit for their Six Flags Reading Program.
Today in class: November 22
Math: Today students worked on a variety of activities. There were some web links which allowed students to put fractions on number lines. Some students worked on a worksheet that required them to solve fractional parts of the whole.
Language Arts; We produced a large part of our bullying movie today. We had a couple of students out so we will finish those two clips after break and hopefully have the video for RETN by the beginning of the week.
Social Studies: Most students have all their pins done and have rehearsed their script. Soon we will be done our Mexico tours, hopefully we can upload them so that they can be seen by many. When we get back from break we will watch a video called Friendships Fields which is about migrant workers from Mexico. It deals with racism and bullying as well as the culture of Mexican farmers.
Science: Today we took our science tests about the Nervous System. Next we will begin digestion, how appropriate after the Thanksgiving holiday.
November 21
Homework Tonight:
Students should practice reciting their Mexico Tour Information. We will be recording their tours in class tomorrow. Study for the Nervous System Test.
In Class on November 21:
Math: Students worked on finding fractions between two fractions. For example: Find 3 fractions between 1/2 and 3/4ths.
Language Arts: We silently read the final chapter of the Revealers and began drafting letters to Doug Wilhelm with our predictions about the sequel.
Social Studies: Students finished putting pins in places in Mexico. Several students began recording their Mexico tours using Google Earth. Once we figure out how to convert a KMZ file we will post some of these tours on-line for parents to see.
Science: Final review work for the nervous system test.
Study the 3 diagrams. Nerve impulse, nerve cell, and brain (3 main parts)
Be able to tell me the path of a nerve impulse.
Describe the functions of the various parts of a neuron.
What are the parts of the central nervous system?
What are the parts of the peripheral nervous system?
